چکیده
In this paper, an analysis of 3-dimensional problem using a fictitious domain method based on distributed Lagrange multiplier is discussed. Using this approach allows us to compute moving boundary problems successfully. First of all, how to use a fictitious domain method using navier stokes equations is explained. Next, incompressible viscous fluid around circular cylinder and ball are restricted by distributed Lagrange multiplier method, and moving boundary problem is analyzed. So, superiority of a fictitious domain method based on distributed Lagrange multiplier is investigated.

A new formulation of the distributed Lagrange multiplier/fictitious domain method for particulate flows
A Lagrange-multiplier-based fictitious-domain method (DLM) for the direct numerical simulation of rigid particulate flows in a Newtonian fluid was presented by Glowinski, Pan, Hesla and Joseph (1999). An important feature of this finite element based method is that the flow in the particle domain is constrained to be a rigid body motion by using a well-chosen field of Lagrange multipliers. The ...

This work developes an approach for numerical simulation of fluid flow through a domain with a complex geometry. We consider a finite element discretization of Stokes-Brinkman equation for modelling the incompressible viscous flow inside a fluid-solid systems combined with Lagrange multiplier/fictitious domain and special spherical bubble functions. Well-posedness of the new method, á priori es...
متن کاملA Distributed Lagrange Multiplier Based Fictitious Domain Method for Maxwell’s Equations
We consider a time-dependent problem of scattering by an obstacle involving the solution of the two dimensional Maxwell’s equations in the exterior of a domain with a perfectly conducting condition on the boundary of this domain. We propose a novel fictitious domain method based on a distributed Lagrange multiplier technique for the solution of this problem. Perfectly matched layers are constru...
متن کاملA lattice Boltzmann fictitious domain method for modeling red blood cell deformation and multiplecell hydrodynamic interactions in flow
To model red blood cell (RBC) deformation and multiple-cell interactions in flow, the recently developed technique derived from the lattice Boltzmann method and the distributed Lagrange multiplier/fictitious domain method is extended to employ the mesoscopic network model for simulations of RBCs in flow. The flow is simulated by the lattice Boltzmann method with an external force, while the net...
